Your evident editing of Karen's comments provided me with a head scratching reread and an audible chuckle while trying to digest the information about Karen's grandchildren. At first reading I thought Karen was going to deliver at Christmas rather than her daughter in law. Having written and edited newsletters myself I can appreciate your predicament of wanting to fill the space, but being limited and accidentally editing out the explanatory phrase causing the reader the momentary confusion and headscratch. Thanks for the chuckle kiddo.
Again, Heather, you are off to a rousing start and have set the bar high for the rest of the Portland Progressives Executive Board. I am certain we will have a growth spurt this Toastmaster year and will exceed all previous bars of achievement. We have certainly selected the most qualified among us to serve as Vice President Public Relations. Thank you for your willingness to serve.

I didn't edit Karen's answers at all. I just published them, as is. I'll have to look closer at it. :)
